I love Bainbridge Island schools and I truly believe that thriving schools are the core of thriving communities. One cannot exist without the other.

Bainbridge Island has a phenomenal School District offering various options for learning at every level. BISD is one of the top performing districts in the region (VIEW) and offers many options to students, from preschool through high school.

For the earliest learners BISD offers Early Childhood Services through their Developmental Preschools, currently housed at Wilkes Elementary and Ordway Elementary.

BISD has three elementary schools: Wilkes Elementary, Ordway Elementary and Blakely Elementary, all grades K-4 as well as Odyssey Multiage Program grades 1-8, the K-4 Spanish Immersion program (currently at Ordway) and the Mosaic Home Education Partnership K-8. As of the 2017-2018 school year, Wilkes Elementary is also offering a multi-age program for grades 1-4. Wilkes Elementary, exclusive of the multi-age program, serves students on the north end of the island. Ordway Elementary serves students in the central area of the island and Blakely serves students on the south end of the island. The boundaries for each school are flexible and can change from year to year, based on enrollment.

BISD provides a rigorous curriculum across all grade levels and BHS and EHHS are some of the top rated high schools in the region, placing students in a variety of top universities and colleges. In addition, BHS recently launched an incredible CTE program with funding support from The Bainbridge Schools Foundation. For more information about the CTE program, click HERE.

Bainbridge Island public schools are thriving because we have phenomenal teachers and a community that believes in supporting children in their educations. Each year the individual school PTOs raise a combined total of over $400K. In addition, Bainbridge Island has a thriving foundation that contributes nearly $1million to BISD annually.
